Guest Lecture in SRM University

Kanchilug guys conducted One Day Workshop in SRM University, Poteri

our guys Rajkumar, Dhasthagheer, Sanmugam(its me), Balakrishnan , LogeshPrabhu and Arulalan conducted this workshop for CSE Department.

Nearly 250 students participated. Students are first year and second year of CSE in that University.

The workshop started at 10.30 am.

First we introduced ourself and about the kanchilug to all

Session-1

Logesh Prabhu started with “Why FOSS and Gnu/Linux ?” and explained detailed about FOSS and Histor of Linux.

Then Dhasthagheer took “An Introduction to Php“.

Session-2

After lunch, Rajkumar demonstrated the “Joomla” and explained the features of php in CMS.

Arulalan took “An Introduction to Python“.

Students were enjoyed with php and python , raised many questions and got answer

Finally BalaKrishnan explained the steps of Ubuntu installation with my demo showing.

due to the insufficient time i unable to take my topic python with glade connectivity.

At last we were windup the workshop around 5 pm.

We explained everything in English only.

In this workshop we gained some experience

SRM Lug provided ubuntu 10.04 dvd to all the participations.

This is first time, kanchilug members have been conducting FOSS workshop in such a big University.

We thanks Mr. Shiv Deepak (III yr CSE) for organized this FOSS workshop and invited us.

Also we thank the management of the SRM Univesity.
